This year Fired Up will be held at the King’s Buildings Campus at The University of Edinburgh, Scotland. King’s Buildings is located in the south of Edinburgh and is the centre of science and engineering research at the university.
Conference Venue
The conference will be held in Hudson Beare Lecture Theatre 2 and the adjoining breakout space beside the Eng Inn Cafe. The venue can be accessed by the door at the far left side of the carpark infront of Sanderson Building (what three words ///pizza.healthier.rugs), then turn left and proceed through the double doors and straight forward.
Travel to Edinburgh
Edinburgh can be reached by both plane and train. Edinburgh Airport is located to the west of the city. There are several transport connections from Edinburgh airport to the city centre including the airport express bus and trams. Edinbuegh waverly train station is situated directly in the heart of Edinburgh and connects to many major cities across the UK.
Travel to King’s Buildings
King’s Buildings is a 50 minute walk from the centre of Edinburgh or a 30 minute bus. We recommend using Edinburghs fantastic bus service to travel in Edinburgh. There are many bus routes local to King’s Campus that cover the breadth of Edinburgh. These bus take contactless card.
Where Should I Stay?
As mentioned above with the bus connections, getting to and from King’s Campus is easy. Evening activities will be around the city centre. Therefore, we recommend finding accommodation near the city centre or between the city centre and King’s Buildings.
